Aleah Sato
{poet} {creative writer}
Aleah Sato grew up in the cornfields and forests of Southern
Indiana. The oldest of 8 children, her writing was shaped by the
world around her: barn owls, religious fervor, Midwestern poverty,
farm life, the thirst for expansion against tradition.
Words and, in particular, metaphor provided a means to transform
and express memory, relationships and self, and more recently,
the significance of place. Working with and reinventing meaning
and value through the words selected, her hope is to give meaning
to a journey many of us share – embracing our vulnerability
in all its challenges and beauty.
It is her intention to create words that mirror, heal and transform,
and connect us to the living source.
